Guest Guest Posted July 26, 2002 9/9 You can be proud of this one. This is the kind of picture I would really like to be able to catch. Congratulations! Link to comment
mike_sea 0 Posted July 30, 2002 Hi Jenny, She is a very pretty young lady. You have captured her well. In children, there are really only two focal points. Their smil and their eyes. Children are NOT small adults and shouldn't be snapped with the same attitude. I would look to get some fill lighting into her eyes ans smile. The slightly burnt hair (top left) would be reduced greatly and we would get to know this little princess a little better. Nice shot and well framed. Mike Sea Link to comment
cathy_beresford 0 Posted August 25, 2002 This is the first time I have commented on a photo here. Just had to say, this photo made me SMILE! What a perfect moment for you to capture. Great eye! Link to comment
jeff greene 0 Posted August 25, 2002 This is a very good shot. The over the shoulder look is great, her expression perfect. A slight baclighting would have really lifted her her well. There is a scan edge on the top of the image, crop it out. Well done. Link to comment
cakeller98 0 Posted August 26, 2002 ...serious vet, isn't she... had a few taken of her? She looks totally natural, and you are completely lucky to have such a great model. You mentioned you like tight crops... and I do too, but I think this is a little bit too tight. I like the right side and bottom, but would have liked to have given her room for movement on top and especially on the left side. although, I do like the little curl of hair in the block of dark gray in the lower left corner. You'd probably lose it by expanding the crop that way, but I think it would be worth it. Nice light for skin, and wow did you controll the highlights in the hair. I'd like to see a little more light in the eyes, and mouth, but... you'd probably overespose the hair... adn for this girl, I don't think that would have worked, so, nice choice of compromise. Cheers! Link to comment
scott bulger 0 Posted August 26, 2002 I like the crop here and wouldn't adjust it. I would, however, like to see a little more light on the face. Good detail in the light clothing. Jenny, do you do your own printing or send it out? Link to comment
v. bice 0 Posted August 26, 2002 Hello Wendy,Very good photo. If anyone has photographed children in this age groupthey will understand what it's like shooting a moving target....very difficult. They just wont sit still. Wendy's done an excellent job here at capturingher little moving target. Lighting good, framing is fine, good contrast andthe subject expression is just wonderful. Cropping a bit tight...but wedon't know what else was in this photo to detract from this view beforethe crop.... Link to comment

carl_crosby3 0 Posted August 26, 2002 What a little cherub! Like has been mentioned, a little fill light would help. Not much, just a smidge (which is about 1/3 stop) would add sparkle to the eyes. Beautiful as is, though. A definite wall-hanger. Link to comment
mark newcombe www.mcnphoto 0 Posted August 29, 2002 Good one! A touch of fill or relfector would have bought up the catlights a little. I know how hard it is to shot blondies you have done it well here. Regards Mark Link to comment
