ewert02 0 Posted June 24, 2007 I'm not a big follower of abstracts, but this is pretty good. I like the gentle light and the colors in this one. The curving lines really make the shot stand out. Link to comment
iren 1 Posted June 24, 2007 Thank you Daniel. I really liked how the algae formed on the lake too. It caught my attention! I am glad you liked it too and left me your thoughts. I appreciate it. Cheers, Iren Link to comment
wood 1 Posted June 24, 2007 I too have been interested in the patterns created by such growth on the water. This is well composed with nice color and textural contrasts, along with a fine sense of form. Very nicely done. It appears that it was shot on a bright sunny day. The colors in the algae might be a little more saturated if shot on an overcast day. Just a sugggestion from an amateur. Link to comment
iren 1 Posted June 30, 2007 Thank you so much for the kind words. I agree with you Robert that unfortunately the sun took away from the colours. Greetings from Victoria, BC~ Iren Link to comment
j.k._york 0 Posted July 5, 2007 congrats on your new camera, and wish you many happy days with it. what i like here is that there are echoes of each element in the other. it has particle like qualities as well as a wave motion to it. i would bring the green out a little more as it goes great with the blue. regards, J.K. iren 1 Posted July 20, 2007 Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, my new camera is great~ Thanks! I was on a camera shoot at Swan Lake and this algae formation caught my eye. The sun was too strong for ideal "colour conditions" to capture this well, but I liked it nonetheless. Regards, Iren Link to comment

PeterKrenek 26 Posted October 21, 2007 Iren, this is a very nice abstract. Maybe the sun washed away some colors from the algae, but it did create shadows which added plasticity to the surface. Best wishes. Peter Link to comment
iren 1 Posted October 21, 2007 Thanks for your input. I was discouraged to lose some of the colour of the algae to the suns bright rays, but I agree, it did it enhance it in other ways. Overall, I was happy with the shot myself. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Kind regards, Iren Link to comment
