Funny how you change the color of a face and crop it just so, twist it, manipulate it and add a different twist to it. All this hanges the whole feel to a simple picture.

Can you tell me something about this picture that you might notice.

What do you see in this picture? I would love to hear what you feel.

For others... what do these eyes say to you? They speak so much to me because I know him.

I just wonder what they say to you. It is funny for me when you look at them without the nose and the mouth they look so different. When you take out the color and just leave the blue...

Terrific shots - both of them! Although I'm not sure about the different toning and combining them the way you have. Did you try black/white on both or sepia on both? Maybe you did and it didn't look right. I love the shots - just not sure about the layout but I could be wrong - been wrong lots of times. I really like the sepia one and the way the blue stands out. Good job!

I'm kinda with Jan on this one. The softness of his features and the lighting seem so wonderful here that I keep longing to see a more straightforward portrait where the look, expression, light, gaze, beauty are allowed to speak for themselves. I keep fighting to penetrate through the split screen and dual treatment to get to where I want to be. But, respecting you as the creative soul you are, I will answer your question by saing the top image speaks of peacefulness and gentility, particularly because the inclusion of his wonderful mouth adds much dimension to his face, already made so compelling by his expressive eyes. That lock of lit hair in the upper left is a visual highlight that speaks volumes but needs no further words. The bottom picture feels dark and gloomy to me, a side which I'm sure he has, but one that doesn't reach me as much as the image on top.

Here are the pics in both color and sepia

You tell me what you think.

Also I did these totally random (as I always do with all my pics). We were at a soccer game and he was eating carrots during half time.

He is a hyper kid and his parents are going through a really BAD divorce and he seemed to be attached to me as a mommy. I saw in this picture ( the same kid that was in my face with the carrot and the same kid I turned in to blue in my manipulated painted folder).

I see in this picture the desire to have someone listen to him.

If I could show the whole picture (I won't because he is not my child and I don't feel comfortable having his picture up for safety reasons) you would see in this picture that he is hunched over some. So if you turn the picture over to the side he is really lookin down and his eyes are looking up at me. It is funny that all you have to do is twist a picture around.

Tell me what you think about the other pictures :) ~ thanks for the comments!

The original top black and white one, untoned, works the best for me, has the most life, natural beauty, and purity and the least overt interjection by the photographer.

There is something about him.

He is gorgeous and the one picture I got of him all smiles was a joy. He has a great sadness about him because of what his family is going through but yet he is always in your face (as the picture of the carrot shows). He is a sweet boy but you see in his eyes everything about him.

The carrot is a hoot - it adds such a bright splash! Aww - poor kid. Reminds me of my nephew - no child should go without love and respect. Ever. Nice that you're there for him Micki!

Lonliness and longing, with a "please listen to me", talk to me. His blue eyes are really dreamy. He is really a good looking young man and I am sure he likes the attention you give him.

I was mean to all of them ~ after he took my camera from me. I was even meaner than ever. No not really.

All kids at 13 have that look of wanting to please but being "not worthy" or "I'm not good enough".

He is a really good kid. Just a normal teenager ready for the world.

Micki, this kiddo has killer eyes...the girls are going to fall at his feet! I absolutely love everything about the top half...the b&w, the tilt, the inclusion of his mouth and nose, plus that little lock of hair curling off the side...so flattering. I see trust and innocence in his eyes and the relaxed expression on his face. He trusts you...nothing is more important or exhilarating than having the trust of a child. As for the bottom half, he has incredible eyes so I can see you wanting to isolate them...the sepia with the blue eyes is not bad, but I just keep looking back at the top...it is sooo good! By the way, the intense stare on the bottom makes me feel like he's trying to figure you out...learn more. Just my thoughts.

Look close. They are the same. This is a crop from that same picture :)

It is a test. Funny isn't it.

How one does not see it. I am forever loving games like this and looking for things on peoples pictures. EYES and such. They facinate me tremendously. But this is the same picture.

Look closer. The picture I posted above is the same picture I took these photo's from. Wild isn't it. You would be amazed at how I get half of my manipulated photo's :)

I knew it was the same because you had mentioned it in your comments, but the composition and treatment give the end results a different look and feel. I stand by my initial thoughts :)
