This image seems somewhat out of focus to me -- tips on improvement

it is a bit out of focus. maybe you were too close - inside your lens' minimum focal length? did you use a tripod?

 

next time, try to focus on the center stem's peak and try to get the pollen in focus. take many shots as these are quite tricky.

 

your composition is lovely and it reminds me of candles in front of a fire...

you might want to try going into Photoshop and pushing the contrast button...making the lights lighter and the darks darker will make the photo appear sharper....ken

I agree with the comment below. If the focus were corrected, this would be very nice shot.

Thanks for the feedback. Macro photography is new for me and I am enjoying it. I'm sure with time I'll get better at it.
