photis santamouris 23 Posted June 8, 2007 A monopod and a smaller aperture would help the most your new lens.My regards. Link to comment
torfinn 0 Posted June 8, 2007 A very good shot again Sarah. Great colours, and DOF. Best regards, Torfinn. Link to comment
rogerleekam 0 Posted June 8, 2007 Hard to compare unless side by side , but I wonder if the two previous posts are in slightly better focus. I find it very difficult to use a tripod for highly mobile wildlife. I also am new to macro, but what seems to work for me hand-held is rapid frames at not less than 1/800, 400 ISO. Link to comment
sarah_newton 0 Posted June 8, 2007 Thanks Roger, really appreciate your help, having a nightmare with these bees! Will give that shutter speed a try, took tripod out and it just made whole thing clumsy lol! :) Link to comment

tidris 0 Posted June 10, 2007 Hi Sarah. You have done remarkably well with this photo. I find that the use of tripod makes you so much less agile with capturing the bee particularly as they don't tend to stay in one place for long. I prefer handheld and you can still get 1 out of 4 shots on target. Roger's suggestion of iso 400 and at least 1/800th sec is the way to go. Regards. Taha Link to comment
vancouverphotographer 1 Posted June 10, 2007 Great colours and precise DOF/focus. Macros are addicting eh? :) You got a great collection. Link to comment
