victor r 0 Posted June 2, 2007 My best regards to all photonet community. I have been taking pictures as a mere hobby for some time now, but this is my first serious attempt to go public with the images I consider my little successes. I tried publishing some of my pictures on the local resource, but people have always been overcosious in expressing their opinions. I would like to hear your voices. P.S.Sorry for my english. :-) Link to comment
urspeter 0 Posted June 2, 2007 Nikolai, this lookes pretty good, yet to rate it for me it just is too small. try at least 600pixel height or width, whatever is greater. Welcome to photo.net and hopefully, you'll get a lot of critique and good ratings. Link to comment

victor r 0 Posted June 2, 2007 Thank you for such a warm welcome. As for the size, I just tried to squeeze into 100kb. By the way,Can anyone actually tell me how many photos a day I can download ? That is, to submit to the critique forum? I have just downloaded the second image but can't seem to make it public. Link to comment
anthonyd 0 Posted June 2, 2007 If you do not subscibe it's 1 per 24 hours. If you do, I believe it's 4 per 24 hours. Link to comment
httpwww.photo.netphoto1664881442 0 Posted June 2, 2007 Hi Nikolai - as with the others, I find the image size frustrating. This is because I believe you have taken an excellent photograph. Why? The image has an overall visual balance, your control of the tones and colour is excellent. I'm not usually a fan of so-called classic poses (a bit too ancient Greek or Roman for me), however, this has been done well and without the akwardness that this type of pose sometimes brings. For my own images I size at about 850 pixels on the longest side, then use under the 'file' menu I chose 'save for web' - that tends to make mine somewhere between 65-100kb. I hope this helps and going by the image you have placed here, I hope we see many more of your photographs. Regards Clive Link to comment
victor r 0 Posted June 2, 2007 Thank you, Clive. That 100kb limitation has led me astray. Too late to reload the pix for fear of losing the comments.Promise to be more careful with the size next time. And promise to disappoint you guys more often than you can possibly imagine! Can anyone tell me what kind of imagery is not acceptable on this site?
