luca colombini 0 Posted June 3, 2002 I like this composition very much. Maybe I would appreciate it more if one could see her head out of the chair frame. Link to comment

jerrymat 5 Posted October 14, 2010 These chairs were once used in almost every senior portrait done - a kind of fad for a year or two. Then demand slipped to zero. What else could I use the chair for? From a negative square medium format. Link to comment
John Peri 1,038 Posted October 15, 2010 Haha, I think it followed the Emanuelle film craze where this beautiful out of mortal range female was shown perfomring all kinds of unhibited acts with and without the people that she encountered. I think it influenced our times, as did David Hamilton's work also, even if they have both now been closeted somewhere in the to be fogotten area of our minds. You always had an eye for graphic work Jerry. This one is not only very pleasing but courageous too, because the silhouette is shown against a background that could well compete with the outline of the body, but somehow it complements it rather than the contrary. A very attractive shot, makes me dream of old times .. :-) Link to comment
david_r_lewis 0 Posted October 15, 2010 Jerry,Nice job on the silouette. As for the chair, don't sweat it, all things go in circles and this one will come back again. I have recently dug out some things I used for Seniors 20+ years ago and it's amazing : the students think I have " new stuff " and their parents love the nostalgia. Props are no different than wide or skinny ties or " Elvis " collars on shirts.Warmest regards,David R. Lewis Link to comment
