This is truly a spectacular scene, but IMHO you this could have been better (and I am only saying this because I truly admire your work). While the composition is technically perfect, it gives too much focus on a rather ordinary foreground and too little to an extraordinary background. Had you aimed your lens to just cover the reflection you would have had, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful display I've ever seen. Regards/

Yes I did earlier that morning and it is in my portfolio as well. I even hava a crop version to square of this on my web, but IMHO this view just gives the best sence of scale and the vastness of that area.

Thanks,

Tomas

That makes sense, and in that perspective, the shot works perfectly :-). I will definitely go and check out on your website what the other versions look like. Cheers.

The compositions of most of the shots I have seen from this lake have been a bit off, but this comp. certainly nails it as much as possible. When was this taken, Tomas?

Thomas, beautifully done me thinks. I like this composition because the foreground provides scale and gives the eye a place to rest before exploring the rest of the scene. I think it also gives a foundation or base if you will, which is a stronger compositional element than having only water and reflection at the bottom. I would have used a telephoto (horizontal) to move in on the mountain and strip of land with trees if I wanted a reflection only comp. Because you chose a vertical rendition, I think you have offered perhaps the best choice that was available.
