there are alot of good things about this photo...but i would say the one thing that really does it is the use of the blue background which appears to be a very similar shade to her eyes. I find taking good color photos much harder than b/w...here you used just a few colors, with the largest block tying in with her eyes (most imporant part of the photo)...good choices all around. ken
