Any suggestions on how to get the grain out of the background without

making it to soft? Thanks for any comments or critiques! :o)

This is a beautiful image! As for your question, there are two methods that come to mind... One is a filter, Neat Image. You can play around with it, but it generally makes the whole image soft. There is a freeware version of this available. The other option is to erase the background in photoshop, and replace it. Try Backdrop Designer by digital anarchy to recreate the background.
