mvisionphotography 1 Posted May 14, 2007 This kitten was found in my Gutter left there yesterday by someone so I rescued it. I let it out to enjoy some sun while my son played ball in the yard. Just able to walk I think the Kitten enjoyed being outside in the grass. Link to comment
sjs1220 0 Posted May 14, 2007 I think it's a great picture. The kitten is so cute (when are kittens not), but the picture is good because of the subtle DOF, and the perspective. Did you take a color version? I think in color the green grass contrasting with the light colored kitten would have been good too. Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted May 14, 2007 I always upload if I have them the color versions so I had it for you to see. It is untouched totally only cropped on the left side a bit. before it was turned to B&W. Link to comment
torfinn 0 Posted May 14, 2007 A very good shot Micki, but I have to agree with Andrew. They are cute when they are that size. Best regards, Torfinn. Link to comment
jlarson6130 0 Posted May 14, 2007 Great perspective and DOF, as if viewing through another kittens eyes. Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted May 14, 2007 YEAH!! I did something right ~ as seen through the kittens eyes. It might not be perfectly clear but have you ever tried to get a moving kitten and a moving kid (which he had no idea I was capturing him) together. I shot about 30 of these and then I had to rotate and crop them. YEAH!! :) Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted May 14, 2007 Beautiful and tender scene, Micki. Nice composition with excellent point of view and DOF. Good shot! Regards! Link to comment
greytata a.nogueira 0 Posted May 15, 2007 Again...layed on the floor for a different capture. is good when we put ourselves at their level.I prefer the BW version. Micki...( of course I prefer...ahahah ) Link to comment
jan_piller 0 Posted May 15, 2007 Beautiful shot! This wouldn't have worked without this perspective! I am torn between colour and b/w though - both are really nice! Good shot Micki!! What a beautiful little kitten!! My husband would have taken him! Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted May 15, 2007 I didn't know either B&W ot color. That was why I did one B&W and one COLOR two different pics and one in PETS and one in DOC. I wanted to see who cared more and PETS won. FINALLY PETS cared ;) HA!! lol I just clicked away and had no real clue Corby would be in the background shots. They were all needing to be rotated to be level but at least we have great pictures of the kitten we saved. Link to comment
lesa jones 0 Posted May 16, 2007 Hey Micki...For what it is worth, I like the black and white version over the color. I might suggest too, to crop off the person in the background. I don't know why, but for some reason I just think that would add interest by removing the person. It would make the viewer intrigued at what the kitten is looking at. Just my humble opinion though. Regards....LJ Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted May 16, 2007 I have of course thought about it when I have been upset with him (he is my son) but it actually does work that way too. I have many of these pictures that are better with just the ball and I might just try one of those too. hmmm Link to comment
sjs1220 0 Posted May 18, 2007 I think the shot is great as it is in both color and in BW (thanks for showing me the color after my comment). I think the blurred subject in the background adds to the character of the photograph and truly shows off the DOF. Either way, though, nice job. Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted May 18, 2007 I aim to please :) ~ since I am still learning I like to get all opinions and critiques. I am not in the numbers game but in the learning game. :) Thank you so much for visiting my picture/portfolio! Link to comment
trisha jean-angela 5 Posted January 28, 2012 Lovely capture of life in its finest little moments. Thank you for sharing and most importantly, for rescuing this kitty and giving it a loving home! :) Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted March 1, 2013 I so wish we could have kept this sweetie but my health at the time and my allergies would have suffered. Of course my daughter still tells me I did wrong and the best. :) ~ Oh I love cats. Thank you! Link to comment
