distantvoice 0 Posted May 13, 2007 Great piece of art. You have captured the tension between the bright and the dark parts of this image. The barrier which is the only firm element here works as a point of reference for the moving dynamic forces of nature. This photo makes me meditate, surprisingly it is calming. Link to comment
Fishermang 0 Posted May 13, 2007 Very different from what one can see of longer shutter speed floating photos. This is unusual because it shows the sea invading civilization. Fascinating. Good score for originality! Technically I think you did well too, there is good balance between "land" and sea. Well done on the details on incoming waves and currents in general. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted May 13, 2007 Interesting Jeff, the diagonal strong flow of water, the nearly abstract composition with the rectangular " earthy" fence holdin the avalanch.... brings to mind the tsunamy.... I like the B/W partition in the frame. nice work. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted May 15, 2007 Great composition. I cannot weary of follow all those waves and whirlpools. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted May 17, 2007 The water patterns are wonderful, as is the entire composition. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted May 18, 2007 I had the same thought as Ramunas, an allegory for the invasion of nature into our world, the transient, fugacious man-made structures. Your choice of short exposure was excellent, water patterns seem to connect land and sea, and symbolize the merging. Excellent seascape ! Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted May 18, 2007 Thanks for the feedback, folks. It is always very welcome, I like this shot for the same reasons as you have observed. Link to comment
iancoxleigh 0 Posted December 13, 2008 What a storm! I love how all the wave patterns seem to swirl in different directions. Link to comment
jkilgo 0 Posted June 8, 2009 I agree with Michal...this is indeed a work of art...I really like the whispy clouds of froth...almost like cotton candy...just beautiful. Regards. Jeff. Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted June 10, 2009 Ian and Jeff, many thanks. This is very close to my home so I have had plenty of opportunities to take another shot like it but I haven't seen conditions like it again. One thing about seascapes is certain, and that is that it is never the same from one day to the next. Link to comment
