butterfly park - may 02 Butterfly

Would love some comments/critiques on the shot. Shot was taken

handheld using Nikon F90X and 105mm Micro lens with fill flash in

the morning. What do you think? There are a number of other

butterfly shots in the folder. Which do you think is the better one

among them? Thanks. :)

The colours of orange and deep green are very well juxtaposed. The dark background also works very well with the brilliant orange. It's a pity that the upper part of the wing is out of focus, otherwise I would have liked this one better than the brown butterfly with the stem and leaf. You've also dealt well with the brown stem in the background. It could have been pretty distracting if it hadn't been out of focus and partly obstructed by the butterfly's body.

Thanks for both the kind comments. I too, personally like the colours on this photo. Probably should owe the credit to the rich colours provided by Velvia. Unfortunately, this being my first time taking macro shots, I wasn't too careful watching the depth of field. Something that I'll keep in mind the next time I'm out there. Thanks again. :)
