The intent of this was to study the fine details of the tendons in

the hand, but I got an idea...it's like I'm reaching out to God for

some help. Or it looks like a duck. If you feel like rating

harshly, please tell me why I deserve such a low rating. I need to

learn! Thanks

I like the idea of getting detail in the back of the hand, but you don't have enough to make it an interesting image for me. The shape of the hand would do it, but I wish you could see just a bit more of the fingers. So that they reached more to the edges of the frame instead of into dead space. Just a little bit though because I like what you are doing. Finally the image is flat, more contrast would help bring out those details you are looking for. Adjust the exposure until you have a true highlight and then adjust the contrast until you've got black, and forgive me if I am stating something you already know. Cheers.

I really like the angle and perspective you chose. I know it had to be some what of a dificult shot. I will go with the hand reaching out. not alot of room for a duck...

I agree with some of what Katherine said in bringing up the exposure and increasing contrast. I actually like the framing of the photo as I think it adds to the concept of reaching out to something not confined. I think the idea for the photo is there, and the rest is just execution... I very much like the idea, its mysterious and very original. I would suggest using a very shallow DOF and focusing on the tips of the fingers, with your hand just a bit bent back to expose the tips of the fingers to the camera. Also, I think if you shot into the sun and then converted into black and white, you would have a great light to dark diffusion effect, which, if the sun was near the tips of your fingers, would add a lot to the photo. Instead of upping the exposure, you might also consider silhouetting your hand with just light shining on the tendons on the back, though this would be difficult I guess (I would have no idea how to do it, but I think it would be interesting). Anyway, great idea... thats already more than half the battle. Alex.

BTW, not sure where the duck is. ??

I can see what your talking about, I even attempted at raising the exposure. But when I did that it ended up looking fake. But the suggestion about the fingers is great! I'll have to try that! Thank you for your critique!

Hahaha, Alex, the duck comes in because I thought it looked like a ducks foot, with the webbing and all. But thank you for suggesting some different ideas, I'm always up to trying new things!
