aepelbacher 0 Posted April 14, 2007 I decided to try a panoramic format with this one ... cropped significantly from a not-so-panoramic shot. Thoughts? Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted April 14, 2007 I really like it as a panorama but on my monitor it looks pixelated.....compositionally it has a "majestic" feel to it with lots of DOF and great eye appeal with the different land forms. Don't you just love that red rock country?! I've always wanted to go see Garden of the Gods, next trip maybe. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted April 14, 2007 Thanks - I don't understand what happened when you are looking at it in the comment screen - I might take that question to one of the forums. But if you click on "larger" in the main "display photo" screen, it's fine. Weird! Thanks for your visit. You will both be getting an e-mail from me soon explaining my extended absence from PN and cyberspace.......... Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted April 14, 2007 This is an absolutely WONDERFUL shot and this site will NOT show it justice. I have NEVER gone with what I see in the COMMET section as the color and the clarity have always been off. I have almost always split screened a picture if I wanted to talk about what I really liked about a picture. THis picture has such great detail I almost wished that you would have uploaded it even bigger so I could have looked at it even closer and I even scrolled in (ctrl mouse scroll) to look closer on the larger version and it looks GREAT! The hills and the BLUE sky are WONDERFUL! and the trees and small road leading up to them are just so inviting. The shot is CLEAR and CRISP and I feel the clean air in your picture. I can't imagine you did much to it as it looks like the picture was taken AS IS! The only thing it looks like you did was maybe cropped etc... They probably can't do much about these comment pictures as it just does something to compress these pictures to make them look awful. THIS, however is excellent!! ~ micki Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted April 14, 2007 Strange.....viewed larger I don't see the pixelation?! I just got back from a tour of the Southwest and it always amazes me to be cruising along through the desert and out of nowhere these wonderful red rock sandstone buttes rise up in all their splendor. kim_tural 0 Posted April 15, 2007 I love your panoramic view of this spot! The red rocks stand out beautifully against that clear blue sky and snow capped mountains. The Gods were with you that day :) (I'm being little picky but I would clone out the white thing beside the road.) Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted April 15, 2007 Kim - you're right! I didn't even notice it!! I'll get rid of it before I use this image elsewhere. Thanks!! :-) Link to comment
sondra kick 0 Posted April 16, 2007 Nice work, Lou Ann, love the red rocks and the snow capped Pike's Peak. I agree with Kim about the white spot. How is school going for you? The year is almost over. Link to comment

afs760bf 0 Posted April 16, 2007 Hi, Lou Ann, This is one of the few shots of this area that comes close to doing it justice. I was there and was never able to get something I was satisfied with. Nice panorama, and very well done. Cheers. Link to comment
joanbn 0 Posted April 21, 2007 Beautiful view. Like the snow capped mountains in the background. Only a few more months and we will be traveling west. Hope we get back here as it's been over 35 years. Think I mentioned awhile ago, it will be our 60th wedding anniversary. Hope your Mom is improving and the warmer weather in Buffalo helps... aepelbacher 0 Posted April 29, 2007 Hey, ya'll - I'll be back and active eventually. :-) But I have a little bit of free time this evening, so I thought I'd show you the original image so that you can see the severity of the crop. Link to comment
regis 0 Posted June 6, 2007 Hello Lou Ann Very nice vista :) It really looks good in panoramic format. I usually prefer more "dramatic" sky, but it's because I'm used to Scottish weather :) I like your composition - it is nicely balanced. Get rid of that little thing beside the road :) Finally I think it would be nice to add a bit more of USM to this photo. It looks a bit soft to my taste. Anyway - good stuff Lou Ann Cheers, Piotr.
