You are, of course, correct in your conduct, and I congratulate you for it. I sometimes have trouble taking the high road and I had a previous run-in with this gentleman which makes me somewhat more easily irritated by him. You will note, that not once did his commentary mention the image, even though he states that is the purpose of the P net. Okay, so there I go again. Well, as I pointed out in my comment to Susan, I tend to be zealous. Well, it's been somewhat of an interesting discourse, but, as you did, I had already decided to sign off on it as well. As always, I truly have enjoyed your remarkable accounts of your life, and your erudite conversation. Cheers

Really neat photo. I think you cannot really know America until you leave it. At least I didn't.... Looking at that flag -what is it now 50 states? - when I was younger, either Alaska or Hawaii was coming in and the flag had to be changed to put on the 49th star. Maybe they made the field 7 X 7, I can't remember but that would be logical. Then when the second state came in it got real complicated and eveyone was trying to figure out where to put the 50th star. That is all people talked about. I see here on the door just how they came up with it. There is a neighborhood in Jerusalem with so many Amercans that they call themselves the 51 State. Where could you put that star? I guess there comes a point where you just have to say "no more stars guys".

You have such a unique view of the world. I'm always so interested with your responses to an image. For instance, in this one, you mention the metamorphosis of the physical appearance of the flag, and a most interesting comment.

Now, not that it matters one wit, what I saw and attempted to portray was a symbol of national decay. The wood, old and weathered, with a flag emblazoned upon it. The stolid but worn old building with signs and symbols from yesteryear. I additionally saw this huge, shiny pickup, which is as symbolic of this country as the flag and apple pie. And now, look at the condition of the company that made this anachronism. Breathing it's last gasp. I fear it is so for this country (maybe the world, too).

And yet, I can rely on you to come up with an interesting, contrary, and possibly just as correct an interpretation. That's fascinating.

Such a different interpretation. I see your photo as a statement about staunch values and pride that Americans have for their country. This photo to me is a positve statement about I what I think America is all about not what it should be about. (is staunch a word? I do not have an English dictionary).
