nature Hummingbird at backlight

I tried to get out the usual bird shot registering this hummingbird

as a silhouette, but keeping it as major subject.

This is excellent, made that way by your background colors. Are those real colors, or is this manipulated in computer? I find the offsetting black background (camera right) to be a minor distraction. I think I would have cropped the right side a little, for a more homogenous background, and to shift the bird closer to the 1/3 mark.

At first I was a little turned off by all the color being in the background, and very little detail in very dark foreground. Looking at it some more...I think it really works well, just because it IS different! Very interesting shot!

colorful background makes the photo. I'd like to see the bird a littl more off center. If you crop the right side it would clean up the composition and move the bird off center.

unusual photo. love the colors, obviously, but i think the little beak jutting out is a great touch. well done.
