asr 0 Posted September 9, 2007 This is a great shot, Andrew! Those bushes in the foreground really make it. Very nice location. But aside from the sharpening issue arising from compression after downsizing, there seems to be a problem with the color space. I've changed the color space to sRGB, and sharpened it a bit with a USM. Link to comment
forrest_andrew 0 Posted September 11, 2007 thanks ashutosh - i agree with the fact that the original is quite soft, your sharpening is a great improvement. the color change i like, but think it's perhaps a bit much. my digital darkroom skills are very amateur - can you please explain the difference between changing the color space and tweaking levels and saturation to get the desired look. thanks for you constructive criticism. regards, andrew. asr 0 Posted September 13, 2007 Hey Andrew, when I opened this image in CS2, it had no assigned color profile. Then I assigned it an sRGB color profile, and this is exactly how it appeared. I made no changes to color, saturation, etc. etc. The assignment of color profile seems to have added some color casts along the left part of the horizon and sky. I can't really pinpoint the cause, since I don't have the original with me, nor do I know the camera profile. The only thing I've done is applied an unsharp mask. Link to comment
