rusty_t 0 Posted May 5, 2002 this is a picture of my love bird, Lucky. It was taken using the reversed lens "technique". Please comment and rate. Link to comment
ron_. 0 Posted May 5, 2002 I like the slightly out of focus soft feel of this picture. Link to comment
dzhaughnne 0 Posted May 5, 2002 Possibly the best picture of a bird in the history of the world. Really beautiful. Congratulations. Link to comment
gianpaolodettoma 0 Posted May 5, 2002 Using a soft portrait on a bird as we do on nice girls, interesting... This parrot is very lucky. Link to comment
hexenwolfe 0 Posted May 5, 2002 I like the close up and the focus on the eye. In this case you say more about the bird by showing less. Good Work! Link to comment
rick vincent 1 Posted May 6, 2002 I like the very tight crop. I think I would like to have seen you hold in the tip of the beak. The texture of the bird is very nice. Link to comment
rusty_t 0 Posted May 7, 2002 Thanks for all the comments. you all are too kind. I feel like you have to explaine this shot though. As I mentioned it was taken using the reversed ;ens technique. That is I was holding the 50 f1.8 lens wrong end to the camera. Because of that I had no control over the crop and could only chose the point of focus. And then I had to get 3 inches close to Lucky (the bird) and if you know love birds you know that they don't like sitting still. But I guess it worked out well. Link to comment

gemccaw 1 Posted May 22, 2002 This is exquisite, you've given us a sense of the personality of this bird (I only wish I could get this close in to our camera-shy budgies. You mention holding the lens to the camera body...there is an accessory called a reversal ring; I got one for Nikkor 52mm. front elements for about $40 Cdn. Link to comment
