snapshooter 0 Posted March 16, 2007 I like the design and form in this shot, Claire. Three things, from my personal point of view. The overall lighting is relatively flat. The white border/frame tends to draw attention away from the shot. Flipping the view horizontally gives you lead-in lines that constantly bring you back to the lower left starting point in a never-ending circle, whereas the original seems to take you out of the picture, permanently. We,in the Western hemisphere, read/write and view everything from left to right, and generally are more comfortable with that concept. It's not carved in stone(no pun intende), but it's something to think about when composing and cropping. I've attached a copy to illustrate. All purely subjective, of course, as is all art.
