awaraagard 0 Posted March 10, 2007 decorated trucks grace the highways of Pakistan. one of the unique automobile decorative art in the world. truck drivers call their vehicles ' The bride '. they say that we r wedded 2 them. long hauls from Khunjrab top to karachi takes weeks of tiring drive. the drivers adorn their automobiles with paint, special decorative items made of plastic & synthetic material & seat covers designed with colored pieces of mirror etc etc. they love 2 hang quranic inscriptions & carvings inside & outside the trucks 4 their safety & prosperity. comments/ critique welcome. awaraagard 0 Posted March 11, 2007 red is the bridal color in the subcontinent. brides wear red on their wedding day as a tradition, with the idea that it arouses erotic/ amorous desires in the husband. most of the trucks r painted red, some with flourescent red that glows magnificently in the artificial/ street lights. regards!
