Oh yes, I should have known...the infamous 3/3 ratings. Why do I even bother?

too much fill flash? why is the bottom of the face soo bright? 3/3 wasnt me by the way...whoever did it hasnt left justification.

I barely used any fill flash for this particular shot. It was raining outside and the sun came through when I took this photo, so there was a lot of reflection from the wet ground outside. She was sitting on a table looking outside.

 

Edited to add: don't worry, I didn't think it was from you. Thank you for the comment. From my laptop monitor, the difference in brightness from the top to the bottom of her face is minimal at most.

my screen shows a definite shadow line at the cheek and muzzle/nose. it looks like the cat is holding a flashlight under its face to tell a scary story. i know it's sometimes hard to see things well on a laptop screen. then again, maybe my monitor has the contrast set too high.

I'm guessing it's probably your monitors contrast setting, as my other photos have the right amount of contrast I was going for, both the ones I edited on my home computer and laptop.

 

I should get her to tell me a spooky story though. That would be quite the experience.

john, thanks for checking out my sunset pic. I'd really like to know what you think of the kitchen photo and the snowy creek one. those are actually the two that i'm really happy with.

I don't understand the big deal about the light - it's beautiful! A cat this beautiful should be showcased in lovely light! I doubt she would know any scary stories though, probably only fairy tales and happy endings! Lovely image and very well done! :)
