billkantor 0 Posted February 14, 2007 Getting closer to my intended result. Comments appreciated. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 15, 2007 Though I liked the first better than the second, I think I like this one best. Everything in this image looks great: the sky, the water, and the beach. Link to comment
audrey lee reid 0 Posted February 15, 2007 The touch of magenta and richer blue does gives a lot more depth to the sky. The water colours are also nicer here then #2, but the shading to the lower left corner is slightly dark? Or is that your intention? Link to comment
billkantor 0 Posted February 15, 2007 Not so much my intention as the consequence of a wide angle lens and light fall off. I tried to correct for that a bit but obviously need to do better. Thanks for your thoughts Audrey. Bill Link to comment
leighperry 0 Posted February 16, 2007 Bill, I agree that this is the one out of the last 3. The vignetting effect creates a sombre mood that is lifted by the magenta cloud lighting. The composition has an interesting effect on me -- I think your use of unevenly sized layers works very well -- it avoids being overly formal and creates a balanced tension, if that makes sense. I'll be interested to see where you take this series. Link to comment
