Blue in Green, Ode to Miles Davis (3)

Getting closer to my intended result. Comments appreciated.

Though I liked the first better than the second, I think I like this one best. Everything in this image looks great: the sky, the water, and the beach.

The touch of magenta and richer blue does gives a lot more depth to the sky. The water colours are also nicer here then #2, but the shading to the lower left corner is slightly dark? Or is that your intention?

 

Not so much my intention as the consequence of a wide angle lens and light fall off. I tried to correct for that a bit but obviously need to do better.

Bill, I agree that this is the one out of the last 3. The vignetting effect creates a sombre mood that is lifted by the magenta cloud lighting. The composition has an interesting effect on me -- I think your use of unevenly sized layers works very well -- it avoids being overly formal and creates a balanced tension, if that makes sense. I'll be interested to see where you take this series.
