i see you have solved the umbrella problem by staying in the car! :-) i love the difference in the side that is wiped and the side that is not, and the way the curve of the wipers drags the light as well as the water.

Excellent image. I really love everything except, I would process it different. But that is personal reference only.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. Glad you like it. Samir, is it because of the pale yellow cast? I hope people out there see the picture as I wanted it. My monitor may not be perfectly neutral.

Great idea and effect Laurent! The dof and colour palette create alot of depth and interest, not to mention atmosphere. Its great how you've conjured up something out of nothing much. I find it interesting how its hardly a 'traditional' comp - but it works somehow - I find my eye drawn first to that wonderful smeared red closest, then spiral clockwise and outwards through the pale yellow sign, following the water line round and down through the blue umbrella and figure, back up the pole to the red. I'm tempted to crop the left up to the pole to keep myself within that outward/inward spiralling route, but then I feel a bit claustophobic ;-)

Drew, thank you very much for your insightful comments. It's always great pleasure reading your incisive analysis of the pictures. You've got a great eye, Drew. Thanks again.

Amal, thank you very much again, dear Amal. I'm honoured by the compliment of such an accomplished photographer.

hi Laurent!

I think it's an original subject and I like the composition/idea. However, there is something about the colors that, for me, doesn't quite work. I see you are having loads of comments on this one and some others I prefer from you that haven't received that much. I guess we all have different tastes but mine are particularly different (and that surely doesn't mean that they must be better ;) ) bye for now!

Alex, thanks for your sincere comment. I tried a different balance of colours on this one and ended with that particular cast. I thought it could work!

Your excellent sense of color is evident here. The different blurred objects are really set off by the focus point being right on the surface of the window. Great idea, well executed. (Just out of curiousity, did you turn this photo on its ear?)

Hello, my dear friend! How are you? I have been so delighted and also humbled from your comments. It is such a pleasure to see that there are still wonderful people who like snapshots of mine. :-)

This image has joyful playing with the basic colours. The red, yellow and blue spots give strong tension inside of the image. Also the signs of the wind shield wiper and the flow of the water make this even more interesting. The yellow tint slows me a little, but it gives some support for the overall atmosphere.

Happy and creative photo shootings!

Back from some vacations, I see that you've uploaded new originals...let me begin with this one...I like the vision through the wet windshield...the faded colors add nostalgy and contrast with the punchy red from the trafic light...for me it is original as it gives a sense of an atmopshere rather than a concrete representation...Laurent.

Laurent, very interesting effect, makes a good abstract with a nice red focal point. The interest is to try and look what is behind... nice to compare with the original, a good way to what you did.

This is enjoyable reading for a worthwhile image for discussion. I will say I do appreciate your treatment and find it appealing but if pushed I would probably go with the original. It is always so interesting to see the comparision. Thanks Laurent.

What an excellent photo. To weigh in, I like the way you have treated it much more than the original. The subtle colors, and the abstraction are nicely executed. Wonderful work.

laurent, nice having you back. I hope you had a good trip and came back with a lot of great pictures.

Pnina, thank you very much. I'm glad you like the picture.

Kent. Glad you like both versions. Actually, I liked the blue cast in the original too, but eventually fooled around and ended up with this one.

David, nice having you back, too. It wasn't quite the same here the whole week without you and Laurent! Montana must be fabulous and I'm sure you brought back tons of beautiful images! ^

Thank you very much again. ^_^

Laurent as they've told you before the composition is very good, resulting in a beautiful photo. To my knowledge you proceeded correctly, in the original the quality and position of the red light and the fact that it is more evident in which environment the photo has been taken the "cold" cast is fine, but once the crop is done there is some logic to the color cast you chose.

You are one I can always look to for creative inspiration. Way to keep it new and impressionistic.
