Now that's a Valentine Mike! Beautiful colors, no two are ever the same, the wonders of nature are infinite. Do you still feel awe seeing these?

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

And yes Mary Fran, I do still feel awe when watching them. Being in the middle of an auroral display is one of the most humbling experiences I know of. I love it when that happens :)

Mike, did you read "Rare Earth" yet? I was thinking about your comment about being in awe under the aurora but it is just one of very many amazing things about our planet. Anyway, this really is a terrific image. I wish I had had more time in Alaska. And warmer clothing.

Kurt,

I have not yet read "Rare Earth", but it is still on my "list". I have quite a few in front of it that I have to work my way through. Right now I'm in the middle of "Ecotopia Emerging".

Go get yourself a good down parka and get your butt up here in 2011/2012 as the aurora should be ripping as we head into the next solar max. It should be an amazing aurora cycle in the next few years to come.

Really awesome picture, Mike! I may have enjoyed it even more if you transfer your signature to a frame outside the image.

Nice to find you onboard, Mike. Your shots of Skagway and the surround are unique and incredibly beautiful. I've enjoyed a slow journey through your portfolio and am looking forward to seeing more of your work. Judy from Ketchikan
