Thanks for the input. Yes, it is a little dark. I am experimenting with this technique and would like to combine a GND with this ND to see what happens, so I appreciate your comments.

Wonderful shot Kurt. I really love the darknes of this, contrasted against the sky and water. A very fantastic shot!

Greg, as always it is nice to get input from you. The others are right, though. Without a GND, as with a normal exposure, the foreground is too dark while the sky begins to overexpose. I will keep playing with this and see what I can do to resolve this dilemma :) Thanks.

I guess I'm old-school. This looks real to me, just the way that the foreground looks at the end of the day. The image imparts a sense of approaching night. You could use a GND and get more balanced light, and there would be more detail in the water and rocks that most viewers seem to want, yet the entire mood of the image would be different (I'm not saying good or bad....just different). I just like the sense of approaching night inherent in the image. It's a very good image; the only thing I would want to perhaps change is to have that patch of blue sky covered with more streaked clouds.

Stephen, thanks for your thoughts on this. A GND works sometimes very effectively, sometimes overdoing it. You're right that it would be different. I am wrestling with this, though. That's why I posted these. I should have gotten a significantly longer exposure here, but in any case would have to deal with the darker foreground. I omitted the polarizer filter to increase the light off the sea surface, but at dusk, it's always difficult to get the light right. Thanks again for your input.
