Driving home from work I spotted these clouds so I headed to my

favourite photo spot. I took this one, hung around and then expected

to have even more spectacular colors and clouds but a wind took away

these clouds and I was left with not much. Hope you will like it. Thanks.

Dieter, Paula, Cherlyn, Debra, Ibrahim, many thanks for your comments and vote of confidence in this photo. It is appreciated. I am getting a better sense of what folks from PN like but don't think I will ever have a full handle on that. I suppose it is our nature as expressed by someone who said "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

Have a great day and keep on pushing the photo button and the visual envelope.

Tony-

Wonderful composition. You cannot buy clouds like this. Good timing. Also, I like the slight tilt (which I didn't notice, another reason I just use my straighten tool before going further) and I don't think it detracts from the shot at all. I also love your portfolio of sunsets, and appreciate the diversity you present. Thanks for sharing.

Tony, You really out did your self on this one, Amazing, Fantastic and Wonderful picture....I guess you can tell I really like it ! ! ! I wanted to rate it a 7/7 but photo.net said I have already given out all of the 7/7's I can give out this month...:(

The clouds are indeed very interesting but you didn't have to exaggerate with saturation and post-processing here. Now it doesn't look much real to me, but apparently people on this site like fairy-tale images :)

Piotr: I really do appreciate you taking the time to comment - it is the only way to reflect and learn. As a general rule I try to present a photo the way my memory recorded it and my mother knows that my memory ain't perfect. In most cases there are minor adjustments to be made and in this case I just slightly lowered the overal density of the photo. This is required mostly because with every film, lens, chemical processing, exposure, scanning combination will produce slightly different results and this is also true with different digital sensors, settings, etc (Canon, Nikon, etc).

Those clouds were real, interesting, and I truly doubt that I will encounter that magic moment in my lifetime again. I try to carry my photo equipment with me as often as possible and I was rewarded on this ocassion. In less than 20 minutes, this scene no longer existed.

I enjoy this very much, Tony. The cloud tapestry and color scheme are spectacular -- key attributes in this capture, and you nailed 'em. The minimalized lake/pond, in its balancing darkness, provides key perspective.
