Very nice shot. I recognized the ridgeline in the background immediately as I was just there in December. Great place to wander and shoot.

Interesting low camera point Dennis, Gives it a nice roundness of form in general,and good perspective. I think you have cropped it right.Really looks a wonderful place to wander....I like the B/W. What aperture did you use? Pity that it is a small image, a bigger one would have enable to see if there are still details in the shadow. In any event it is very nice, and texture is great..

This was shot at 35mm, 1/20th @ f14. Looking back, I'm surprised I didn't try a wider angle version.

 

I didn't do any cropping in the computer.

This almost has the feeling of a body... The curves are perfect. This is a GREAT shot and I love the ripples! The mountains and clouds in the background are so rough it just is a great contrast to this picture! ~ great shot! ~ micki
