It looks like he's walking on water! This is a neat photo - the shadows on the water make a great backdrop for the black bird. My only wish is that there was more light in the eye. Good grab though!

Boy, if you could just raise the lighting a small amount this could be a jewel. The pastel blue background and the black raven (?) are a perfect match. Just needs a little more sparkle in the image. And I think this would also help the eye as Jan has mentioned. Nice framing too. 5/5 anon

Excellent capture, Jeff. Good thing I'm not into symbols because I could interpret an anti-Christ figure trying to imitate another famous walk on water.

This is a great capture, Jeff, and a tough cookie lighting-wise. Almost any post-processing will make the bird gray, which is undesirable. I took a stab at it; let me know what you think. Best regards, Dieter

Yes, the exposure was tricky with this one too. I played around with it, but this was as good as I could get without greying out the bird. I have tried to isolate the eye in PS and brighten it in some other shots and was successful, but this one looked a little fake when I tried it. I think that's what you tried in your rendition, if I'm not mistaken, Dieter. Thanks for taking the time to do that. It's a good way to learn. I'll play around with it a bit more and see what I can do, but it's a tricky bird with the backlighting from the water.

And, no there certainly is no antichrist symbolism here. :)

Thanks everyone.

Jeff

You've got a good eye; Jeff. I sharpened the eye selectively, then the head again. Also used curves to get a bit more contrast, keeping the bird dark and

brightening the background a little. Regards, Dieter.
