Jack McRitchie 150 Posted February 5, 2007 I wrote a long essay on this picture and just as I was finishing it up my computer switched off and I lost everything. Arrghhh! It was brilliant (you'll have to believe me) but was inspired by the brilliance of this picture. It's a GREAT abstract which I'm afraid few will understand since it's really not about anything at all or anything worth shooting. Instead it is testimony to the transforming eye of the artist and his ability to conduct a chance convergence of light, color, form and transient catalyst (in this case a rainy window) into an original and striking work of art. Excellent. This should be blown up and hung on the wall of a museum. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 6, 2007 I quite agree with Jack, but lack his eloquence. This really is superb and I think you've hit a home run with this one. One of your very best. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 6, 2007 P.S. If you would put it up for rates, I would say 7/7. (And I don't hand out a lot of those) Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted February 6, 2007 I like the light and focus on the window and water droplets with the car in BG...Like in your "red thing" image what interest me here is that your image gives a sense and mood of a raining day rather than anything else in particular...you transfer this feeling with minimal elements. pnital 36 Posted February 6, 2007 You like reds Laurent...;-)) I like the complementary colors of reds and greens, with hints of hues in the green, and the way you have cropped it a bit diagonaly. The water droplets are beautiful textures, nice iamge! Link to comment

laurentlacoste 0 Posted February 7, 2007 Thank you very much for your kind comments. I wish I could have answered each comment separately, but I let time fly a little too much I'm afraid! Thanks again very, very much. I'm glad you like the picture. Link to comment
kentb2 0 Posted February 19, 2007 So silly me. I let this amazing shot go unnoticed for so long. The color, and beads of water in semi-focus over a perfectly cropped image. This one goes into the favs. Link to comment

lupine 0 Posted February 27, 2007 You've inspired me, Laurent: I've been wanting to do an entire series utilzing the car windshielf. I've been waiting for the rains (I'm in Southern California and if you know the song, it never rains...). In addition, the rain has to be a certain type of rain, there has to be a certain film on the glass for the water to collect and drip properly, or I'm making too much out of it. I tend to overthink things :-) Maybe I should just get the hose? Despite my ramblings, this is a wonderful image. Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted February 28, 2007 Paul, thanks for your kind words. I like your work and I'm always very glad to hear from you. I sometimes wish I could be in Southern California to try and capture the kind of scenes such I see in portfolios such as yours. We have so many days of grey skies and rain here in the north of France these days that I spend most of my time longing for sun or light. Link to comment
