Often times we landscape photographer fall into a mode of photographing at the Golden Hour (Sunsets or Surizes) and fail to realize the beauty surrounds us at ALL times. On one such occasion while driving through France, we noticed this lonely barn in field of flowers with spectacular skies above. We stopped the car on side of the road and proceeded to take this photograph.

You are absolutely right Jay!Most pics ahout landscape are all about sunrises and sets and just ignore other beauties.

I am glad to see this different nature beauty other than sunrises and sets.

congrats Jay and really a goog job!

I so agree with your comments on this one! We do tend to only look for the sunrise and sunset opportunities...this one has wonderful color harmony and balance. I enjoy this one tremendously.

I agree Jay. I looked at this picture and thought the same. The Blues, Green and Yellow have come out very well. I had seen one picture yours of kids in the past and I liked that one too. I like this picture very much. I was feeling though that the barn and the trees seem to be approaching towards the center area. The physical problem is if you move right or left, one or the other will grab the center spot. I felt the extra wide angle (16 to 24?) might be good try at this location. We can approach little closer to tree and barn and stretch them by the use of wideangle, would probably balance little more and could make it dynamic. Just a thought. In any case I like this beautiful scene.

Good point, I quite agree with you. This stands out just because of its serene atmosphere, its stellar quality colors and tones. Of course well composed and balanced, as always.

I realy like this photo , but as a newbie i have a question , the thick empty space on the right of the photo (not really empty filled with flowers and sky)

a little distract my eye , and i have an unbalanced feeling aoubt the composition , maybe by changing the point of view a little bit you can have the barn farther than the trees ,i mean the barn maybe better more oriented to the right :) ill be very thankful if you please tell me am i wrong or not and guide me through my way of better looking :) regards ,AmirAli

To some extent composition is an art rather then a exact science. Besides classic rules of the third, location and surroundings have an effect on composition. What a viewer cant see on the photograph may effect the choice of composition as well. For this photograph, I wanted to display the blue sky and the yellow flowers growing in the run off on the side of the barn. Had I placed the barn more to the right those flowers would have been covered up. Also there were some power lines to the right that I was trying to avoid. All those factors dictated my choice of composition for this photograph.

You are perfectly right : this is a pretty nice landscape like many others in France, and you are right also to not only photography landscapes at sunset or sunrise. The light in this very nice composition is soft and the colours bright, full of spring and mildness.
