kslonaker 0 Posted January 28, 2007 See posted original for comparison. Converted to sepia and somewhat high-key. Comments? Link to comment
carlsphotography 0 Posted January 28, 2007 Great effect! However, I do not think the frame does the picture justice. Link to comment
WJT 627 Posted January 28, 2007 Though this was a well-seen photo-op, I like the workup version more than the original. My attention is completely centered on your subject without the distraction of the boardwalk. This would make a really fun greeting or note card. I think the frame is okay. Regards. Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted January 28, 2007 Well maybe I lack imagination, but I prefer the original. It just seems to me that it has more life to it. And I prefer the greater detail that the colors give the feathers and the beak. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 28, 2007 I was attracted to the original shot because of the texture more than the color. These brown pelicans just don't have much, so I tend to play with the shots more. Thanks for the comments, guys. Link to comment
timnichols 0 Posted January 29, 2007 You're still capturing birds of every feather. I like what you did with this one. Link to comment
ghiga 0 Posted January 29, 2007 Very nice image. I like the work with High key. Maybe You could try to leave the little of color of the bird, inserted in the High Key composition... I don't like too much the big black border. Too important in a gentle image like this. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 29, 2007 Love it dear Kim :) great in sepia with this white background! Biliana Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted January 31, 2007 Your pelican shots are always fun to see. I think the treatment you used really brought the focus onto the bird...in the original, he kinda got lost in all the brown. My only problem with the frame is that the thick, dark border seems to "cage" him in a bit...maybe if there was a little more room in front of him, it wouldn't bother me as much. Just a thought. joe-tury 0 Posted January 31, 2007 Like the high key best. Makes it look "old" to me. Link to comment

dave_dube 10 Posted January 31, 2007 Great job Kim, love it. The border/matting is perfect for this and would also agree that it would make an excellent note/greeting card.Regards, Dave Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 3, 2007 Nice conversion to High K, Kim,makes it more interesting than the original, as it gets the whole stage. Nice colors and light, well places on the frame. Link to comment
