m._ort 0 Posted April 15, 2002 Very strong photo. Excellent exposure in difficult situation. A very "3D" image -- from the foreground to the background. Adding the blurred person is a nice touch! Kind regards, m. Link to comment
cts 0 Posted April 15, 2002 Uh ... the persons are not "added", they are real people catched by the photo ... Link to comment
gianpaolodettoma 0 Posted April 15, 2002 Very beatifull shot. Great depth of field, tones, lighting. Bravo Link to comment
m._ort 0 Posted April 16, 2002 Christian, by "adding" I did not meaning doing it in photoshop. I simply meant "waiting" for the person to appear. Perhaps I should have been more careful in my choice of words. Kind regards, m. Link to comment
volker_stiller1 0 Posted April 17, 2002 Christian, you have some great photos in this folder. This one is one of my favorites. Just the other day, I wanted to tell a friend who is visiting Paris next week to stay in the little hotel halfway down the steps in this street. I just couldn't remember the name. Thanks for posting this photo and for reminding me. (I hope the hotel is still there.) Link to comment
stefan lubomirski de vaux 0 Posted April 17, 2002 Why is nightime photography so aatractive. Very competent Link to comment
bill_pope1 0 Posted April 17, 2002 Great use of light; wonderful "ghosting" effect of the people in the foreground, and an intriguing emotional pull by the buildings on either side of the shot; my only criticism is that there isn't a specific subject to the picture; I suppose the mood and general structure are enough to make a good picture, but my eyes were wandering around, wondering what should really be attracting my attention in the picture Link to comment
michael_edelman3 0 Posted April 17, 2002 I love B&W night shots and this one strikes me as particularly well composed and executed. Link to comment
bgelfand 1,255 Posted April 17, 2002 Great picture - except for the vary blurred people in it. Link to comment
koska 0 Posted April 17, 2002 Yes, a great 3D sensation on this one... I feel I can squeeze between those buildings on my monitor... Great! Link to comment
mark_metts 0 Posted April 17, 2002 Beautiful shot. I love the way the man and little girl look almost otherworldly. How did you achieve that effect? Link to comment
cts 0 Posted April 17, 2002 Mark, the blurred people effect is dued to a "long" exposure while shooting (2 seconds). Thanks for the congratulations. Link to comment
jeremy_buss 0 Posted April 18, 2002 Very nice photo, very catching, great job on a difficult exposure. Keep up the good work. Link to comment
samdeleted 0 Posted April 20, 2002 Yes, it does look like a stage, and the people in it look like a little painting that someone added as an afterthought. 9/8 Link to comment
robert_mcgee 0 Posted April 22, 2002 Reminds me of the stairs in the begining of the movie Ronin. Link to comment
lex_jenkins 13 Posted May 8, 2002 This is the kind of cityscape I've always wanted to photograph and have never found. I love the depth, the layering of angles, everything. I also suspect some skillful darkroom work went into helping make this image so good. Link to comment
anthony_young 0 Posted May 15, 2002 Ala Brassai. Is this the same location? I actually wish the people weren't in the photograph, but very nice regardless... Link to comment
abintraphoto 0 Posted September 22, 2002 You sir, are underrated in my opinion ........... some excellent images in your folders ! Link to comment
travis1 1,024 Posted October 20, 2003 You have much better night shots in your folders. This, as good as it is, not one of your better ones. I still like it however. There's depth and the tones are superb. Well deserved. Link to comment
