Very interesting! It's only a bit too dark in the foreground.

It looks a lot like IR photography. would you mind sharing how you achieved

this?

Cheers.,

I've experimented w lightening the foreground and didn't like it, but I'll re-visit it.

I shot on Fujichrome Velvia (50 asa) and scanned using Nikon 4000 scanner. Converted to Black and white and used a red filter for contrast. I selected the surrounding snow and used a mask when setting overall contrast so I could bring out the subtle variations in light later.

Thanks again.

The radiant quality of the trees is from hoarfrost, which had settled on everything overnight, due to a fast drop in temperature. It was about 40 degrees fairenheight when I went to bed, and 10 below @ 6 am. The existing humidity froze on everything and created this amzing luminous situation for about 2 hrs, then it all melted off.

Thanks again,

David

The lumination behind the trees is great and the way it continues to the foreground of the shot, velia 50 is great stuff, I still have a few rolls stowed away.
