I think you should decide to have the mother in the picture or out of the picture, not half way.

this is a great pic, it shows very much emotion, and the mother(jennifer) is perfect where she is, it looks GREAT!!!!!!! i love it!!!!!

This is a preety good picture; I like its "Live" atmosphere.

However, there're a few things to correct.

 

*I think using slightly narrower apperture would help a bit; the background is blurred enough anyway.

 

*Also, as Jennifer said, you should decide between mother/child, or just try to fit them in frame.

 

In overall, it's nice. I like that.

 

 

 

I like the mother there. Maybe a little less of her would be nice I haven't looked.

However, I do appreciate your comments and opinions.

that makes sense. Obviously, I underevaluated the composition - several weeks later, it seems better. It might be fun to play around with color effects in PS, though:))
