I think you two were standing under the same bird! Great image - big mouth!! (the bird, not you James!)

yes Jan - we were indeed standing next to the same bird! - the two of us plus 3 others in the forest in the dead of night and no sound for miles around except for the occasional call of s frogmouth, an oriental scops-owl or the incessant "brainfever" calls from a common hawk cuckooo.. I thoroughly recommend this place if you want to encounter such amazing bird diversity! thanks for your comments! (ots ok I guessed you meant the bird's big mouth not mine!) :-)
