very good and pleasant picture, nice looks. I agree that a crop will make the picture even stronger. otherwise putting the background more out of focus will help as well, but that may be difficult with the small sensor of the panasonic. perhaps photoshop may do that for you. another source or sources of light may make the lighting less flat.
