Hello Gordon, in bird photography terms I'd say your very sad bird (not nice to hear he's wounded) is a little soft, there is 'red eye' from your flash perhaps, and you've got part of a woman in the background which detracts from the subject. Sorry - he's a beautiful owl but you haven't quite done him justice. Keep trying! (I'm also a 'learner' and appreciate all the help I can get). Rgds Carole
