The shot is based on a good idea and you have a decent eye fro compostion. Take the shot again and try a couple other ideas. The lighting is strong, try some fill light, flash or reflector to balance the light. Using a wide angle lens is good, now look at the background and try not to have the gun and arms and head on the horizon line, maybe a higher camera angle looking down.
