david robinson 0 Posted December 6, 2006 Hello Peter. I like the color contrasted here with this rich dark soil It might be interesting to see another shot with a more dramatic perspective. Getting just inside a row and down low (allowing the row to disappear into infinity) and having that cloud above would have added much impact here. Also I find that the perspective of rows really is heightened when viewed from above. So a shot from on top of the car or latter would also be effective. Just floating some ideas... Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted December 6, 2006 Thank you, David, for your comment. This was a very pleasant autumn day. I agree that getting into the row may result in an interesting composition. I am not sure, whether the exposure would be correct. Here I used a 3 stop ND grad filter to achieve balance between the dark foreground and the luminous sky. Being in the row, the filter could darken the vine twigs, though one would have to try to find out whether this is a problem or not. And yes, from above, the perspective would be better, but nothing was around to help... Once again, thank you for your visit and valuable input. Regards... Peter Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted December 30, 2006 I like the strong convergence in sky and land part, very good landscape. The wide angle perspective adds depth, draws you into the scene. Very good in-camera work, the grad ND transition is invisible. The low horizon in thirds puts emphasis on the beautiful skyscape, good idea. BTW, I like Davids suggestion with the ladder - I had the same idea on some occasions. Makes me smile when I imagine the farmer, watching the strange guy with a camera on the ladder ;-) Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted December 30, 2006 Carsten, many thanks for your opinion. Indeed, perhaps next year I shall bring something to get me higher above the rows. I do not worry about the farmers, but I cannot imagine shooting from a ladder with a tripod, I used one here ;-)... Best wishes. Peter Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted January 2, 2007 David, I found back one shot from last year and the same place. Is this what you meant ? Unfortunately, the clouds were not so attractive. Link to comment
