katzpjs 50 Posted November 22, 2006 Karl I am guessing here but please confirm if I'm correct. The round disk is a stone that is spinning and grinding the grain? The basket on top holds the grain which is released into the hole so it can slide under the stone to be ground?Something like that? Link to comment

The millstone is driven from below by the force of water running down a steep channel to drive a wooden water wheel. Farsad, happy you are able to appreciate less glamorous models.
