Fascinating shot. Most unusual. Okay, it is a heart, but what is it really?

The composition itself is really nice but I love the monochromatic colors and nice detail of the leaves. I think it's great that you spent time in one of the most photographed parks with majestic views everywhere and you see something so lovely and simple as a rock and leaves, way to go girl.

Thank you Margaret! It's a sandstone rock in the bottom of a wash. Susan, thanks! I'm always trying landscape photos, but I never like them...these kind feel more successful to me...you don't want to hike with me if you're the type who focuses on the destination and getting there fast...I'm too busy examining stuff like this :)

I'll hike with you-this is some of the best parts of an outing...the fine details. I saw the heart too . Nice arrangement of the leaves. Was a polarizer filter used young lady?

No polarizer on this one. I tried a couple shots of other rocks with polarizer and without, and the ones without were better. Maybe it's not a good filter. It makes blue skies look grayer. Or maybe it's that I have to hold it up in front of the lens...
