Hallo Andreas,

wirkte auf mich beim ersten Betrachten wie eine Abwandlug der Venus von Milo. Auferstehung ode rentsthehung.

Gut gemachtes Bild - Tolle Arbeit.

Da sieht man mal wieder welche SCh䴺e man noch bei sich verborgen hat.

Viele Grߥ

@ all voters and people who wrote comments...thank you!

@ all the other nearly 20 000viewers ... somehow i feel like i am feeding pigs with pearls

O: 5.96 A: 5.79...is that all?
i mean everybody hopes to ge a good rating for his pictures....but this picture definatley deserves much more
and when i see wich kind of pictures during the last days where voted much higher...than i can only say...my pics are to good for this community

is it that someone has to write many comments at other peoples pictures? do i have to rate other pictures high to get higher ratings? isnt it enough to post a great picture? are buddys and friends more important than quality?
i feel like photonet isnt anymore a place where good pictures are shown and apreciated, it seems, its more important how nice i can lie under otherones pictures....
a O: 5.96 A: 5.79 i take as a personal inlust and i dont know if i want this to happen again, if i should upoload more pictures here anymore,....i dont wanna feed pigs with pearls

nothing is perfect
i have pictures wich dont even deserve a 4, but i wouldnt upload them ;-)
this one definateley deserves more, and as i said, when i look at some of the pictures uploaded in the same time, wich get much higher ratings, than i am sure it dont has anything to do with the pictures, its just about friends and buddys...in this case, with this picture above, i feel like i was feeding pigs with pearls when i see the low and few ratings...i dont complain, is just say what i think...and i am not sure if i will upload pictures here again, thats all

Your comments make me smile :) "Feeding pigs with pearls" hits the nail on the head squarely. Well said!

As for the image, it is truly lovely. Not sure what part you did & what part Ben did, but I can guess. Of course the detail, DOF, subject matter & the way it seamlessly flows together is wonderful. I immediately noticed her bent arm, it echos one of the flower's pedals. This echo plus the perfect color & lighting match of her dress, face & flower adds to the potential realism of the image.

Ratings on PN are just opinions of those who skim through the "rate recent". Who knows who they are??? Who knows what their expertise is? Who knows if they even have any expertise? In my humble opinion, Photography IS Art. Many don't see it this way. Creating a work of Art, that can withstand the test of time versus the trendy Pop Art, is the true test of an Artist.

Andreas- you are clearly an Artist. Your artistic ability shines through on every image you post. Do not let anonymous raters color you. It seems that many of the members who can honestly see an image for it's value have taken a hike from PN, but slowly I see us returning. ( I include myself, not because I feel I can create Art anywhere near your quality, but I sure can recognize it)It was such a shame when the great exodus occurred. We lost some of the best Photographic Artists. But.... many are slowly returning. This is a good thing :)

thank you Jayme, thanks a lot

i know u also was unhappy with what happened on photonet when the "rate recent thing" started ?

at least i remember some mails from you about this topic, but to follow the discussion in the forum was to much for me, cause the language and the little time i have since i started a new business

anyway, i think, it was inevented to make things better but things became worst

i think u are right, i shouldnt pay to much attention on the rate recent ratings, but my pictures deserve that i dont let them experiance this

so i decidet to stop showing pictures here....at least for a while

dont know if i will "come back to photonet"

i have been uploading pictures in several different websites like photonet, and photonet was the last one wich survived cause it was different, better,...

at all other places i stoped long ago, i think its time to say goodbye to photonet as well

i sell my pictures, ok realy not all of them , but some, and i donnt need a custumor who payed a lot for a picture read or see here, that a snapshot from an untalented...damn i dont even know a word for it ;-)... is so much better

its not just this,...its just i donnt need this to happen to my pictures

i still apreciate photonet, as a website wehre i can see pictures from very talanted and creative artists, a place where i get in contact to some realy nice people with the same interest like i have, a place where its worse to spent a while....but no no no... my pearls arent made for this ... ;-)

ill not be away from photonet, i still will look around sometimes, and maybe ill find more time to see, comment and rate pictures of other people

by the way, "feeding pigs with pearls" isnt my creation, in germany people say "its like throwing pearls in front to pigs", i just changed that a bit

by the way 2: Bens part on this picture was much bigger than mine, its him who made something so beautifull out of my pictures, he deserve the bigger part of the "applause" but he also dont deserve, this damn pigs eating his pearls ;-)

Keep uploading. We all know the rating system on PN is awful & they refuse to do anything. This is a very imaginative idea which is well done

Very nice work! Too bad for us if you're not posting any more, but hopefully you will.

OK, so for useful critical feedback... well, maybe you won't find this to be useful, but I _suggest_ you try blurring the flower in the foreground to see if you like this better. It's worth a try, and if you don't like it, you don't like it.

I've said this to others, but feedback is feedback. My favorite way to do this with non-photographers is to provide a set of images, maybe 15 or 20 let's say, and ask them for their favorite 3 and for the 3 they would discard, if forced.

Here at photo.net, I tend to throw out the very low and very high ratings, and see what consensus is. And you know what? Not EVERY image needs to have universal appeal. Your favorite may only be loved by 10% of the audience, but there is NOTHING wrong with that? People like babies, pretty girls, and pets. There's nothing wrong with that either, you just need to know it.

Anyway, you have some great work here and we'd all be better off if you kept it coming. Your choice, of course :)
