For quite a few people, this was the last thing they ever saw (when Tiberius was Emperor)... [for more detail try <a href="http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=661156"<here</a<. Warning.... BIG FILE!]

tony_dummett

That's a fish farm at the top right, not a drying mark.

What you can't see from this low-res version are the literally hundreds of seagulls that made me giddy just watching them soar on the perfect thermals this cliff generates. Every little speck in the picture is a seagull - and there were many more, but only on the large version.

You can find a detail of this picture showing lots of seagulls. BE WARNED!!! It is a 380K file and will take some time to download.

Great shot Tony. We must have missed each other by a few days. How did you enjoy the walk up? It's suprising how little the Island of Capri gets photographed. You utilized the xpan brilliantly in this shot.

post a small section of the larger scan, I would like to see the gulls! BTW Very nice, I don't know anyone who does better panoramics than you.

Beautiful panoramic shot! You make it look so easy. And, yes, the resolution of the lens/film combination is remarkable. The notable thing about your XPan photos is the incredible transparency. It is like looking through the monitor, rather than (as usual) looking at it.

this view coincides well with its historical caption. The wide format is used appropriately and the subject is composed well within it. The color is incredible. It is sad that photonet guidelines on image size, together with modem download times and screen dimensions make it an extra challenge for you to present your photographs to their maximum potential, and regretably they are presented far below that potential. I certainly don't mean that as an insult, rather how much it must disappoint you to have these absolutely amazing photographs, only to have to shrink them to the relative size of postage stamps when placing them on-line.

I think that this picture is actually as original, due to the angle and format, as a costal shot can be... What I find quiet interesting is that it almost looks, at first glance and small size, as a picture of mountains ans sky above them !!

It might not be the most beautiful cioast I've seen in my life, but I think it is about as good a photo of this place as anyone (talented) could have taken. Very well composed, great details, nice colors. Regards.
