Karl Schuler 48 Posted November 4, 2006 The large bridge over the Yarkhun river collapsed some months ago. The locals just finished building a temporary bridge. Now they hope to get some donation. Who could resist? Thanks for your feedback. Karl Link to comment
bartimeus1 0 Posted November 4, 2006 Outstanding portrait. Even though his facial expression feels more like he himself had blown the bridge and is happy because of it, this is such a joyful image. The surrounding mountains and the bridge, approprietely out of focus, form a great background for your image. I am very much impressed. Very good capture, indeed. Link to comment

gungajim 75 Posted November 5, 2006 Exceptional portrait, Karl. The story about the bridge makes it even more interesting. I appreciate it when travel photographers take the time to provide a context for their photos - if its helpful. (oops, system won't let me give you a 7 for now, even though this deserves one.) mehulbkhatri 0 Posted May 3, 2007 Honestly, I dont know much of photography. But all I know is that this man smiles from his heart. Never mind his hardships, there is some peace within him that reaches out and touches others.. spontaneously. God, let there be more of such smiles ... on all of us. Thanks Karl.. Link to comment
