grenex 0 Posted November 2, 2006 I have had the idea to shoot at this location for quite some time. I was out doing some portriats shots with a friend of mine. When she showed me the red dress she wanted to use in her photos, I knew right away that we could make an interesting photo at the location. Comments welcome Link to comment
jay_hagan 0 Posted November 2, 2006 Could we see it reversed... the color on top and the B&W on the bottom ? Link to comment

michael lyons 0 Posted November 3, 2006 I would say that the reflected section in color is better---as if looking to the "grass is greener"---the reverse would send an entirely different message- great idea , great execution----ML Link to comment
haleh b 0 Posted November 4, 2006 I like the effect you have created here but her pose is unnatural. I can see this image better seen if she threw a little drama in the mix. Link to comment
tholte 16,881 Posted November 4, 2006 I don't like the effect at all, too cheesy in my opinion. The image also seems to be out of focus and not sharp. The compsition is off, the model is too centered and the waterline is splitting the image in half, something you usually would want to avoid. The rule of thirds is a good rule in most instances and would have helped in composing this photo. Link to comment
ancadiana 0 Posted November 4, 2006 sepia goes perfectly with the contrast of the strong red. it's like two different stories in one.. congrats! Link to comment
papasan 0 Posted November 7, 2006 I disagree with Tim. I think in this case because of the reflection the centered composition works perfectly well. Besides "rules" of composition are meant to be challenged and broken. They are not written in stone. They should not be seen as "rules" but as guides. I love the creativity and originality of your picture. Well done Link to comment
