single photos A keen eye

Shot with a D-200 thru a 70-200 lens no touch up.

Still new to the camera. Any critique?

I think this pic could benefit from a little more focus, so it is sharp from the tip of his nose to at least his ears. It doesn't look like those are all grey hairs making his muzzle so light so a little more control of the light would be good. My eye keeps wanting to go to the bright spot on the left which is a little distracting. Good looking subject, hope you can work with him some more.
