Athough Dick is no longer around to read your comments, I hope you like his pictures and I would enjoy discussing them with you.This is a B-24 bomber named the Strawberry Bitch. It flew combat missions in Italy during World War II, then was returned to the U.S. for publicity display. (Some accounts I have read have suggested that the bathing suit was added to the nose art only at that time.) After the war it was preserved. This picture was taken in 1959 at Davis-Monthan AFB near Tucson, Arizona, when the Strawberry Bitch was being prepared for its final flight - to the USAF Museum in Dayton, Ohio, where you can see it today.August Horvath Link to comment
