This would make a great Christmas card. Infact I have had a great job in finding a christmas one like this. Is this not far from you?

Hi Michael, nice to see you. I'm glad to hear that you like this picture. This farmhouse is next to a castle. (BTW, The shot of the castle gate is also taken here) I took this shot from the arcade of the castle. I have two pictures in my portfolio in which you can see the bows of the arcade which shows a view to the same landcape as you see here. This area is about 50 kilometres northwards from where we live. Funny detail is that I have discovered that one of my ancestors is born and raised here in 16the century. So when I walk around here it feels a bit familiar. And I wonder if he probably has worked on the castle or if he was a farmer. I like to do some more investigations but I have a lack of time through all the picture stuff. I think you're busy too with many things and you will have a lack of time to make pictures, am I right Michael?:0)))

Warm greetings to Scotland from a rainy Holland, Ada:~)

Very pretty rural painting. It is curious that, in spite of the lack of colours, I.R. shots often looks like paintings.

Ada, I'm used to seeing IR shots that look somewhat like winter, but, Ada, this one IS winter--you really could use it on a Christmas card, as suggested.

Nice work, Ada. You're always trying something new, whether it's PS or now with IR. It's always a joy to visit your page.

Bonsoir Henri, I'm glad you like the rural scene. (I've just learned a new word 'rural', thank you;-). I can tell you why IR pictures have so often a painting-like look. It's because of the noise which is inevitable. You can use a special programm (Neat image) to reduce the noise but that can cause a kind of a synthetic look to the picture.

Dear Lannie, I feel flattered by your comment. You are right, I like to take up challenges. And in particular related to photography, the magic of transform views fascinates me very much.

Perhaps (if I don't improve these one in the coming months) I will take up the suggestion to use this picture as a Christmas card. People who give me their postal adress will receive a hand written Christmas wish from me.

Hi Richard, nice you drop by. It's a pleasure to read your very positive opinion. Now everybody is talking about snow in relation to a farm I actually realise that it's pretty strange to see cows lay streched out in a by snow covered meadow. That means that this picture used as a Christmas card will be a real unique one.... Aha, that's great;-)))

Thanks to you all gentlemen! Many greetings, Ada:)

This picture belongs to a series which I have made as a beginner in

Infra Red photography. I'll appreciate your constructive comments

very much. Thank you, Ada.

I did not know that I.R. caused noise. I have never tested I. R. photography. But this is not the reason I thought. It seems to me that it is the dreamy effect which gives this impression. Painting is often nearest to the dream than photography... standard.

Like a legendary story with the small house, very nice treatment of IR Ada. I like the small house as the focal point in the frame,Lovely.

Ada, You have found a very wonderful scene to capture in infrared. Even if you chose only the bottom left corner of this frame with the gate and tree you would have a shot that was very nice.....Jim
