I don't think it helps the bird in this case. It does add interest to the bench by highlighting the webbing and framework but even on my dim monitor there is an uneasy blown out spot near his butt. The bird competes with the bench details for attention, and loses. A tighter crop with more bird and less bench and some processing to adjust the lighting might make a better shot. Hope this helps.
